Scott Adam Zanarky 2011. You may not use, duplicate, or modify this image in any way.

A beautiful shallow stream running through the mountains in Banff, Alberta.

This is 1 exposure. I placed my camera in Av mode, set to f22, and ISO 100 for a slow shutter speed. I then held my camera on a rock for stability and shot this 5-second exposure. The only editing that was done was for colour saturation for the yellows and greens. The actual water is unedited.

Please leave comments and/or critiques .

Really nice shot :) Did you use a longer exposure to get the water to look like that?

This place looks peaceful. I've always loved that effect used on water, I can't wait to try it myself.

Thank you! It really was quite peaceful. Easy effect to do. Most people would use a tripod. I was a little more unconventional and just held my camera steady on a rock :).

Very nice as for the "unbalanced green" part i love it, it makes it look alot more natural. Tis photo looks natural but yet mystical and beautiful, it's nice for a change since most photos nowadays are overly edited. :D GOOD WORK :la:

Thank you! Yea, if I can capture a nice water effect and exposure in the camera, I will. Makes things look so much more real.

The bright green colour on the right makes the photo a bit unbalanced, and seems to fight the main subject over the attention. The water effect works nice tho :]

It is! 5 seconds at f/22, handheld, but placed on a rock for support.

I've always wanted to go to Banff!I love how the water turned out. How did you get that effect with the water? I've seen it done before and I could never figure it out. Then again..I have a 4 year old Nikon CoolPix.

It's actually nothing more than just a long exposure. It's a 5-second exposure, and I held my camera steady by putting it down on a rock.

Banff is really nice. I was pretty lucky too because it started raining and gusting terribly about an hour and a half after I took the shot.

But hey, thanks for the comment! You rock.
